Scottsburg!

Good morning! Hope you're having fun with softball again! Scottsburg is a very nice town,
albeit pretty small. My new companion is Elder McIntosh, he's pretty cool!
The work has been slow in Scottsburg, so I've been focusing on picking it up a bit. We've
already found a pretty good family to teach! We helped them with some plumbing, and that
helped us get in the door for lessons!  My new address is 257 Harrison street, Scottsburg IN,
47170. Thank you so much for all the boxes! Anyway, tell Grandma & Grandpa there's a letter
coming in the mail, and you all have fun!

Love,
Elder Mattinson

Transfer News

Thanks for the update, things are going great, here! I can't  belive I forgot to mention this, but transfers were Saturday, and I'm going to Scottsburg, Indiana! I'm pretty excited for that.
As for that tire, we had a spare, we used to get to a tire shop, so it wasn't that bad. I'm pretty glad Dad taught me how to do that.

I really liked Elder Bednar's talk, too, especially his quote from D&C: Weather to the north, or to the south, east, or to the west, it mattereth not... you cannot go amiss."
It sure is wonderful to know who really leads the missions in the world.
I'l let you know how Indiana is next week, stay safe!

Elder Mattinson

A cool furnace we checked out in Owingville!

You Won't Believe This

3/27/17

Hello again, things are going pretty well out here! Funny story, we somehow go a key stuck in our tire, so we're sitting at a repair shop as I speak. 😕 the change in the presidency takes place in July, and fun fact, the last mission president, President Woodbury, started the Woodbury School of Business, at UVU, small world, huh? We're watching general conference at the meeting house, so that probably means 10 hours in a suit (yay). Other than that, things have been pretty slow. I'll write again next week, you all stay safe!

Natural Bridge

3/20/2017

Hello everybody! Sorry I'm not writing personal Emails today, but its for a good reason. We're going to spend this P-Day at natural bridge, in Boone national forest. I'll upload a bunch of pictures later, but I figured I would write a quick update!

Things have been good, we had a chance to attend the baptism of one of Elder Smith's investigators in Somerset, which was great! Other than that, it's been pretty good. I'll write again next week, everyone stay safe!

Love,
Elder Mattinson

Happy Saint Pat's!

3/13/2017

I spent a lot of time on exchanges this week, with other missionaries. I went to Lexington with one of the Zone Leaders, and Elder Smith stayed in Mt. Sterling. Throughout the week we found about 7 new people to teach! One of our investigators has had a difficult time giving up smoking, but he really likes the plan of salvation, so we're going to try to help him personally understand that he can quit, and repent.

Thank you for all the help, and support, I'll write again next week!

Elder Mattinson

Hello from the Burbon Capital!

Thanks for the update, and the pics! We've been doing well (no, I have not broken anything
else yet.) we found an old wireless hotspot in our apartment, and loaded it up, so I'm writing this
while we do laundry!

We've had quite a bit of success this week, with 4 people who have dates! I'm not entirely sure
if they will all make it, but Elder Smith and I are going to work more on helping our investigators
build
a better testimony themselves. We both believe this will really help them stay on date.

Thank you for everything, I don't think there's anything we need, but thanks again! I'll write again
next week!

Elder Mattinson

Hello Again

Hello again! Elder Smith and I have been doing great! He's from Pleasant Grove, and is a super positive guy! He's been out for 8 months, so I'm still the junior companion. I'm also still considered a Greeny until I hit six months, so that's fun.

The work's already doing a lot better, we have three baptismal dates! The first two are a great-Grandmother, and her Great-Granddaughter. The Granddaughter's more on board, so we're focusing on her, to help possibly convert the whole family. The other is a man, who we met, while street-contacting. He accepted a date, but is on parole, which could cause some problems. It's amazing how much a little shake up can change an area!

If it makes you feel any better, the temp dropped back down to 45 last Friday. All Y'all have a good week, stay safe!

Love,
Elder Mattinson

We've already broke a clock as a companionship, so things are going great!
