Moving and More Snow

Good morning!

If it makes you feel any better, we’re supposed to get snow Wednesday, so I guess spring’s just terrible everywhere. We’re finally moved into the new apartment! It’s super nice, and right in town, we’re super excited! We’ll record a walk-through, later today. We shouldn’t need an apartment number, just 817 Pleasant st.

The Zone Leaders visited Saturday, and helped us clean out the old apartment, in time for the inspection. We went to Jerry’s, a pretty famous place in Paris, and I tried the famous Kentucky Hot Brown. It’s probably the most unhealthy thing I’ve eaten. Open face Turkey sandwich, smothered in cheese sauce, with bacon, and a tomato on top. It was pretty good.

Well, I hope you have a good week, stay warm! I love you!

Spring? What’s that?

Good morning! We just woke up to snow, so I’m giving up on guessing what season it is. Our week was pretty good, we spent a lot of time cleaning, but also did a lot of less active work! We’ve made so many trips to Goodwill, dropping stuff off, it’s not even funny.

So you remember that Pumpkin Muffin recipe?  I’ve started making those, and taking them to less actives, and they’ve been a hit! Everybody insists I’m the “Chef Elder”, but I’ve made sure to let them know that the recipe is simple enough that anyone could do it.

So we officially move this Thursday, at 12:00. I’ll have to make a video, showing off the new house, or something. Our new address is 817 Pleasant Street, Paris Ky 40361. Thank you so much for teaching me how to make those muffins, I never thought they’d be so useful for missionary work! I hope you have a good week, tell Dacy and Kaden I said congrats! I love you!

Staying!

Good Morning!

Yep, Elder Chowen and I are staying for another transfer! I’m fine with that, honestly. I really like Paris, so I don’t mind being here a little longer. Our week was fairly slow, altogether. I was sick Wednesday and Thursday, and then we got a call, that we’re moving into the new apartment on the 15th. We spent most of the weekend cleaning up the apartment, getting it ready to move out of. This house is pretty old, so there’s been a lot of holes to fix, and a nasty bathroom to clean up. We also helped an older member get the voicemail on her phone set up, that was quite an adventure. I can’t blame her, but it can be pretty frustrating, trying to teach an older person to use new technology. Other than that, our week was very quiet. We didn’t have too much time to teach😥. Hopefully this week gives us more time. I hope your week is warm, and dry, I love you!

This sure was a week.

Good morning! That’s awesome, that you finally got snow! Our week was... bad. Let’s be honest, it was bad. We were in a car accident Wednesday. We were turning left on a blind hill, and someone reached the top at the same time, and hit us. Thankfully, everyone’s fine, and both cars were still drivable.

I woke up Thursday morning with my neck killing me, so we spent pretty much all day trying to find an urgent care place that covers neck injury, and I apparently have some minor whiplash. They prescribed me some muscle relaxants, to help with it. We spent the rest of the week getting car estimates, and resting.

Then, at 9 last night, Jordan texted, dropping us. I’m just glad the week’s over. In better news, the new smartphones were rolled out for missionaries! We were given a Samsung J3, it’s pretty snazzy. We also got a referral, named Stephanie. She has Pneumonia right now, but she seems pretty cool!

Well, Transfer calls are Saturday, so I’ll update you next Monday. You have a good week! I love you!

Car Accident...

Spring might be here!

(Feb 19, 2018)

Good morning!

Sounds like your week was really fun! We had an eventful week. Jordan’s date is March 17th, and she’s excited! We had an exchange, so I spent a day biking in Lexington. It was fine until my bike seat broke off. Did you know it’s really hard to bike when you can’t sit down? Thankfully, we made it back to the apartment, and I took a nice seat, from one of the spare bikes they had.

So, yesterday, we wound up giving a talk in sacrament, teaching Gospel Principals, and then teaching the Aronic priesthood class. Quite the busy Sunday.

That’s awesome to hear that Riley’s came to church! I hope that becomes a regular thing! Both your box, and Grandma’s box made it here safe and sound. Thank you so much! I hope this week’s fun too. I love you!

Rain, snow, something in the middle...

(Feb 12, 2018)

Good Morning!

Yeesh, 8 hours of driving, that sounds like a pain. But I’d bet it’s worth it, to go to the Manti Temple! I always though it was so beautiful on the outside, I’m a little jealous. We’ll have to go when I get back.

We’ve mostly had rain this week, but this morning we got snow, so there’s that. Our week was pretty good! We continued teaching Jordan, she's doing great! Her Boyfriend, the bishop’s son had just proposed to her a few hour before our last lesson, so she was super happy! We did some Tracting this week, and poor Elder Chowen tripped, and banged his hands up. I guess we’re just accident prone.

Well, thank you so much for the box, I’ll send a picture when it gets here. Hope you have a good Valentine’s Day too, I love you!

-P.S.
That Burrito had Chicken strips in it, too. It was sooooo good.

When there's a burrito the size of a baby for only $9.

Still Snowing in February

(Feb 5, 2018)
Good Morning! We’re still pretty deep in winter weather, right now. Our week was pretty good, with some challenges. Thursday was pretty unpleasant, that’s for sure. We went walking, and I managed to hyperextend my knee, or something, and then later I slipped on somebody’s steps, and did a number on my side. I’m fine now, but it made for a slow weekend, trying to heal up.

Good news is, we’re teaching an awesome woman! Her name’s Jordan, and she’s a member’s girlfriend. For the first few weeks, we thought she was a member already, but once we found out, we invited her to take the lessons. She said she wants to be baptized, we’re super excited!

Well, I hope everybody gets feeling better, I’ll try not to hurt myself to much this week, you have a good one, I love you!

Somebody got Utah in the weather!
